Renovation and reconfiguration of a previously combined 1 and 2 bedroom apartment. The existing combination had created a spacious yet dark apartment. The owner wanted to create and lighter more open living space and address the very cramped kitchen. The owners wanted a kitchen where two people could be there together. The existing kitchen was a typical New York City galley kitchen with very little space between counters and pipe and electrical risers in walls that did not allow them to be moved. Our solution was to install a linear cooktop in place of a regular range, this enabled us top make the space between the counters 6” wider, creating a far more flexible and useable space.
